Fast growth equivalent to playing fast and loose ?

Is it possible to grow a business at an exponential rate by playing entirely fair ? We suppose that also begs the question whether you believe that “business is war”.

Groupon has been heralded as one of the fastest growing businesses in the world and customers certainly love it; the concept was a great idea and it can result in some great deals for consumers, but as against that, whenever we use services like this, we always have a nagging doubt in our minds along the lines of “what’s the catch” ?

Who isn’t familiar with being told by parents that they shouldn’t trust something if it seems too good to be true…  well, aside from some adverse publicity about some products and services offered being unavailable or significantly delayed, it seems that Groupon now have a potential scrap with one of the big boys, the OFT.
